Allen R. Pyle is the developer and owner of perennialguru.com. Allen is a research and marketing specialist for Raker in Litchfield, Michigan. He has worked at Raker since 1995. Raker is a wholesale plant propagation greenhouse, known for its quality and service in providing small, medium, and large growers with a wide variety of plant material, including perennials from seed and cuttings.

Allen has a bachelor's degree in horticulture from Michigan State University and a master's degree in entomology, also from MSU. He is also certified in Permaculture Design.

Allen is a respected perennial guru and has written numerous articles for horticulture industry magazines, incluing Greenhouse Management & Production (GMPro), FlowerTECH. He appeared on the cover of the December 2002 issue of Greenhouse Management & Production. Allen also regularly speaks at industry conventions, including the Ohio Short Course and Ball Perennial Symposium. He also assisted with the writing and editing of the latest edition of the Benary Perennial Guide, a descriptive catalog of Benary's perennial offerings.
